O-R-E-O

What have I given up for Lent? Beer. Yes, beer. We've almost completed a whole week of lent and I didn't realize how much I drank beer, I've been sober for 5 days, 14 hours, 33 minutes and 2 seconds. Wow, what a lifestyle change. It's going to be a long 40 weeks.
I'm sure you're all wondering why I haven't contributed to my blog lately. Well, I started my job a couple weeks ago. I've been assigned to an 87 year old male whose wife died in November. He is very sad and lonely without her. With some of his own health issues, he's unable to keep up his home and prepare himself meals--typical male right?. So I go visit with him 3 nights a week. When I arrive he insists I sit and chat with him (he thinks I work really hard with the kids all day, I won't dare tell him the truth). After we chat, I make us dinner and we chat some more. Then I get some light cleaning done for him. He gets upset with me at times because I should be relaxing, not cleaning (yeah, I'm too pretty for that he says, have I mentioned I want him to be my husband???) He actually wants to make sure Joel will not get jealous of him. My challenge with this old man, is that he was a Biology Professor for 40 years. He does not believe in a higher being or think he will be united with his wife again. It's fun trying to convince him though-- I think he's entertained by me. We've had some interesting conversations. Lately we've discussed the presidential election--he thinks that Obama is evil (his middle name is Hussain you know) and he is going to covert us all to be muslim. If Hillary is on the ticket he says he's lowering his standards and voting Republican. It's hard to keep my filter on with this guy!!!
Anyway, that's what I've been doing. This is what Rebekah is up to...
